Chief Executives from Herff Jones headed to Smithtown High School East on Last Monday to present a $5,000 check to the school’s DECA program. The award to High School East’s DECA program was thanks to it’s members Ryan Micozzi and Jainee Gabrielsen who were crowned Champions of the Herff Jones Marketing Results Challenge. Micozzi and Gabrielsen competed against two other national finalists at the Herff Jones’ International Sales Conference in Palm Desert, California, in early January.

Jainee Gabrielsen and Ryan Micozzi analyzed marketing trends, identified issues through research and conducted various market surveys to improve yearbook sales. In addition to gathering information, the pair created real-life promotions and conducted digital and school wide marketing campaigns, which resulted in the highest increase of  yearbook sales, Smithtown H.S. East has seen in over ten years.

In April, Micozzi and Gabrielsen will travel to DECA’s 2016 International Career Development Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, where they will be recognized for their work.
