Smithtown Children’s Foundation Hosts A Weekend of Events Honoring the Life of Sean T. Cook
The Smithtown Children’s Foundation will be busy raising money for the Sean T. Cook Scholarship this weekend. The philanthropists will begin the weekend at the Smithtown Fire Department with a charity Car Wash, with a special street dedication to Sean taking place at 9 AM. The S.F.D.Explorers are sponsoring the Car Wash, on Saturday, from 10 AM to 2 PM, Rain or Shine. Tickets for the car wash are $10 each. All the proceeds from the event will go to the FF Sean T. Cook Scholarship, which is given to students looking to pursue a career serving the community (Police, Firefighter, EMS etc.)
The Smithtown Fire Department is located at 100 Elm Avenue in Smithtown.
Then on Sunday, head to SMI1ES 4 S3AN (Smiles for Sean) Bowling party. From 12:30-4 PM enjoy an afternoon filled with Bowling, Food, Entertainment, Auctions and plenty of great raffles at the AMF Smithtown Bowling Lanes. Tickets are $25 per person with the proceeds going to help Smithtown families in their darkest of hours, in honor of Sean T. Cook.
Smithtown Bowling Lanes is located at 200 Landing Avenue in Smithtown.
About Sean T. Cook
On Friday, August 23rd, 2013, Sean Cook lost a two year battle with Germ Cell Cancer. The SHS West graduate was a talented Smithtown youth bowler, who volunteered his time, giving back to the community as a firefighter with Smithtown Fire Department. In Life, Sean inspired an entire community to come together in support of his family. In his memory, Sean’s giving heart, continues to live on through annual charitable events and Scholarship fund.
