Viva Vida: Happy 100th Birthday

LESLIE KENNEDY CELEBRATES LOCAL WOMEN’S 100TH BIRTHDAY

Last Tuesday was a very special day for a local Islandia woman.  Vida Hopkins Tallon blew 100 candles out on her birthday cake, in the company of Legislator Leslie Kennedy (R–Nesconset). Tallon’s celebration of life was complimented by a special gift. Legislator Kennedy presented Vida with an official proclamation, commemorating her for her 100 years of a long, healthy, and amazing life.

“It brings me such delight to celebrate Vida’s 100th birthday with her! I want to congratulate her on a joyous and incredible life! It is hard to go about living day by day with such grace, and with her optimism, she certainly makes life look easy!’’ – Legislator Leslie Kennedy

Vida Tallon began her life in September of 1915, in Queens, NY. She is the proud mother of five, with husband, Robert Tallon. She has lived all over the country, residing in along both coasts, in places like New York, California, and North Carolina. Since the beginning, Vida was a modern woman who spent the good part of her professional career as a typist for Photonews.
