Visiting Scouts Learn About Local Government

Girl Scout Troop 3006 got the VIP tour of Town Hall last week as they earned their “Finding Common Ground” badge.

The tour began with learning how the Town Clerk, Tax Receiver, Town Council, and Supervisor’s Office departments operate. Additionally, Town Attorneys Martin Simon and Jennifer Juengst, the Youth Bureau’s Karen Aldrich, and Park Ranger Joseph Auguliaro were also on hand to share day in the life details about their respective departments.

Troop 3006 asked questions about local government operations and learned the differences between town employees and Elected Officials. The troop also learned about the importance of volunteering in their community, and how to receive community service credit as part of school requirements.
