The Smithtown High School West Varsity Whisperettes are still the reigning Champions in the Nation. The High School Kickline team have successfully defended their title as 2017 National Dance Alliance (NDA) Championship winners in the Small Varsity Kick competition. The Whisperettes went up against the top 19 teams across the Country.

In addition to defending their title, the team was awarded the technical excellence trophy and was named Best in Category. The West Whisperettes had the highest kick score of the competition. The Whisperettes also competed in large varsity pom, where they placed Fourteenth out of 25 teams and medium varsity team performance, where they placed seventh out of 14 competitors.

in 1976, the National Dance Alliance made its official debut as a sister company of the National Cheerleaders Association, known as the most exciting, full service provider in the dance spirit industry. The NDA’s commitment to teaching young cheerleaders how to “lead the crowd” and be leaders in their schools and communities began with his first camp at Sam Houston State Teachers College in Huntsville, Texas, in 1948. Since its beginnings, NDA continues to serve generations of dancers and cheerleaders around the world.  NDA is recognized for continued commitment to the development of excellence, teaching leadership development, strong support of school athletic teams, pursuit of excellence in technical skills and teamwork.  These core principles are the fundamentals necessary for each young dancer to act with integrity, inspire excellence in others and become the leaders of tomorrow.
