For the past three months, Children, Teachers and Staff Members at Harbor Country Day School have collected over 400 toys in the annual Toys for Tots initiative founded by the United States Marine Corps. Each Year, Toys for Tots delivers a magical Christmas surprise to Children in need and plays an active role assisting them in health and development growth year round. Harbor Country Day School has supported the Toys for Tots program, for over 25 years, which unites local businesses, neighbors and teaches students the importance, merit and value of Philanthropy.
On Wednesday, December 17, United States Marines from the Sixth Communications Battalion, Alpha Company, in Farmingdale, NY will pick up over 400 donated toys from the Harbor Country Day School in St. James to be delivered to the Suffolk County Toys for Tots program. After visiting with students throughout the school, the Marines will help the students load the toys onto Marine vehicles for distribution throughout Suffolk County. In addition to collecting toys from its own students, Harbor Country Day serves as a drop-off location for members of the surrounding community.
There’s still time to drop off a special Toy for a Child who will cherish the gift year round.
