With only a few days left until the Easter Bunny hops into town, the stress of putting together a holiday for the entire family is undoubtedly getting to you. How do you fill Easter baskets for the impossible teenager, or keep the little ones cavity free this year? We found some Egg-cellent inspiration to create unique (candy-free) Easter baskets for every family member, friend and co-worker on Peter Rabbit’s special list that won’t break your budget.
Garden Basket:
Inspired by Designmom.com… Fill an old wooden wine box with garden tools like a shovel, trowel and a nice pair of gloves. Next add starter planter cups, seedlings and a few spring bulbs, vegetables or strawberry plants. Top it off with a great Gardening magazine or a how-to book or accessories such as a straw hat or gardeners hand lotion.
Easter Baskets for Baby/Toddler
Inspired by SavvySweetLife.com… Line a basket with a bath towel or a quilt to keep things soft to the touch. Add a Velveteen Rabbit stuffed animal along with the matching book. Roll up a few short sleeve onesies and tops so they look like roses and arrange them tightly in the basket. Add a few bath accessories like rubber duckies and plastic toys to fill the basket up.
Feeling Lucky Easter Basket:
Inspired by dpbolvw.net… Fill the base of a small galvanized tin with styrofoam and cover with green tissue paper. Next, tape wooden skewers to the backs of 10-15 scratch off lotto cards and push the bottoms into the foam. Add a few fun fillers like chocolate gold coins and personal size Lucky Charm cereal boxes to fill in the tin around the scratch offs. Tip: if you want to weigh down the foam bottom, spray paint some pebbles metallic gold and place around the edges of the tin.
Easter Baskets for Teens/College
Replace the Easter basket with a storage bin, laundry bin or something else useful to your young adult like a backpack or shower caddy. Fill the container with vital essentials like iTunes and starbucks gift cards, flip flops, red bull, protein bars, microwave mac-n-cheese, razor blades and shaving cream, laundry detergent and a roll of quarters. Top it off by emptying a box of Chocolates and filling each mini paper cup with different monetary bills and dollar coins. Your kids will never grow too old for an Easter basket like this one!
