Get ready to help out Smithtown’s bravest heroes. On August 1st, The Smithtown Fire Department will host the Second Annual Chicken Barbecue, from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the Fire Department’s scenic Nissequogue River Property, just behind 419 West Main St.  Tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door and include an authentic barbecue chicken dinner, hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, beer and wine and live music from Long Island’s number 1 country band, South Bound.  The Department recommends that tickets be purchased in advance as last year’s Barbecue sold old quickly.

Proceeds from the annual soiree will go to fund the restoration of the Smithtown Fire Department’s  historic 1935 Mack Ladder Truck. The restoration project has been funded thus far by out of pocket contributions from members of the Smithtown Fire Department and generous Smithtown residents. Help the Department Restoration Committee return this valiant piece of Long Island history back to its former glory.
