Did you know that Suffolk County has the largest Italian population in the country? Seems like a natural fit for the Order Sons of Italy in America and NY State Commission of Social Justice to host it’s Italian heritage and cultural festival right here. Co-creators of the festival, Louis Gallo and Elizabeth Rizzo, would agree, as they have chosen the Smithtown Historical Society Fairgrounds as this years home to the cultural celebration. The second annual Italian Heritage and Cultural Festival kicks off Saturday, June 26th from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M.
The day of heritage pride will include Cultural presentations featuring art and literature displays from Thomas Bandise of Piccirilli Brothers, Master Stone Carvers and Author David Mercado, Italian car show, plenty of authentic italian food vendors, fun children’s activities and much more.
Performers will include singer and percussionist John Ciotta, tenor Rinaldo Toglia accompanied by accordionist Dominic Karcic, Jazz singer Linda Catania, Tenor Jimmy Alleva, the New York Mandolin Orchestra and Quartetto Ducati Italian Band. Admission fee is only $5 per person and children under 12 are free!
Join in the fun or become a part of the festivities as a corporate sponsor or vendor. Visit the Italian Heritage and Cultural Festival online for more information.
The Smithtown Historical Society Fairgrounds is located at 239 Middle Country Road in Smithtown.
