Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are asking for public assistance to identify a serial bank robber, alleged to have robbed four banks over the course of two weeks in June.
It began late in the day, on June 11th at approximately 4 P.M. when the unidentified man shown here entered a North Ocean Avenue Chase Bank in Farmingville. The man, who concealed his face with glasses and a hat, gave the bank teller a note which demanded cash. The bank teller followed his note, giving him an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled on foot immediately after.
The Suspect repeated this procedure on June 24th at another Chase Bank, At approximately 2:30 P.M. the man entered a Sunrise Highway Chase Bank in East Islip, where he fled the scene with cash from the bank teller. The unknown suspect, repeated his pattern the very next day, June 25th at 5:20 P.M. at a Portion Road Capital One in Lake Ronkonkoma. On Monday, June 29th, at approximately 9:40 A.M. the man committed his fourth robbery at a third Chase Bank located on Medford Avenue in Patchogue.
The man is described as middle aged, between the ages of 35 to 45 years old, about 6 feet to 6 feet and 2 inches tall and considered to have a thin physique. Anyone with potential information about the unknown man or these robberies are asked to call Suffolk County Police or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
