Long Island Advocacy Center Calendar Features Smithtown High School East Six Student-Artists
Six very talented student-artists in Dianne Shanian’s photography class at Smithtown High School East in will have their artwork featured in the annual 2017 calendar of the Long Island Advocacy Center. Hayley Anderson, Kayla Daneau, Sam Denenberg, Grace Faulhaber, Anthony Fazio and Alexa Ondrush designed photo montages that were hand picked to be featured in the calendar. On Friday, November 4th, the artwork was presented during the Long Island Advocacy Center conference. Over 200 attendees including parents, students, educators, advocates, attorneys, youth and human service professionals, admired the students photo montages before each appears in the 2017 Calendar.
Donna Hemphill, education advocate for the Long Island Advocacy Center wrote a special message to each student, “Your collage serves to remind us of the special, individual strengths and abilities our students possess. We celebrate your talent and hope that you’ll use it as a catalyst to do even greater things.”
