St. James Fire Department Annual 5 Mile Run

The 33rd Annual St. James 5 Mile Run & 3.5 Mile Striding Event & First Responders Team Race is this Saturday April 18th from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. The run, hosted by St. James Fire Department’s Engine Company No. 3 is somewhat of a tradition for generations of Smithtown residents. Local small businesses sponsoring the run include, St. James Funeral Home, Tic Toc Cafe, On the Go Fitness, Garguilo’s Bakery, Seaqua Deli and Rocco’s Pizzeria.

Many runners, who have participated in previous years, know first hand that this five mile fun is filled with plenty of rolling hills along the Harbor Road route. Luckily, runners can monitor their progress at every mile mark along the traffic controlled, medically supervised course. Most spectators will watch and applaud near the historic St. James General Store or just past it at the finish line of the scenic run through The Head of the Harbor. The first 300 entrants will receive a T-shirt, so be sure to arrive between 7:30-8:30 AM to register. Runners who missed the pre-registration date, can register before 8:30 for $30.  Checks should be made out to St. James Fire Department- Engine Co. #3 (yes, it is tax deductible). All proceeds from the run, go to benefit Local Firefighters Burn Center Foundations and Engine Company No. 3.
