Spring Romance: Works best with a light colored square container or planter

DIY spring planter inspiration Two: 2 quart Ranunculus bulbs plants, Two 1 quart Medium sized Daffodil plants (4 bulbs each) and 8 pussy willow branches.

We found Ranunculus bulbs that are bursting with colors from Borella’s Farmstand. (Note: if Borella’s is out of stock, Father Nature in St. James also has smaller, single color ranunculus) Add a few Daffodil bulbs (we used four already in blossom) behind the Ranunculus and accent with 4 pussy willow branches per planter.

Spring Sunrise Planter: Works best with an urn pedestal planter

DIY spring planter inspiration Six Pack of bright yellow Pansies (starter pansies) Four to Six Bright Pink or Salmon Tulips, Ten purple or white Muscari (approximately 1 quart planter) and One or two Hyacinth. We loaded up on Easter Bulbs from BB & GG in St. James, for the best color and quality spring bulbs… not to mention price!

Start by placing the tulips right in the center of the urn planter. Next spread the muscari bulbs along one side of planter. Add the Hyacinth to the other side. Finally, add the pansies to the front of the planter, so they cover the front half of the urn. Optional: Add some spring branches for a little more height.

Spring Awakening: This works with any container

DIY spring planter inspiration One 2 quart hellebore plant, Four to Six medium Daffodils (approximately 1 quart plant), One small ornamental grass plant (such as dwarf blue Fescue or Japanese forest grass), Creeping Jenny, two or three small pansies from a starter pack of six and a bunch of pussy willow branches and some Spring moss.

Optional: You can substitute the grasses and creeping jenny for another filler like a mini azalea bush or an easter hydrangea, however, this will only work if you are using a large container with depth for the roots to stretch out.

Start by placing the hellebore in the center of the container. Add the Daffodils to one side behind the hellebore. Add the ornamental grass to the other side of the back of the planter. Next add the creeping jenny to one side of the front of the planter, adding the pansies to the opposite side. (Note: if replacing grass with azalea; place the hellebore and daffodils in the back of the container and add Azalea to the front of the container, like you would a filler plant.) Finish the planter by adding the pussy willow branches and hiding the soil by placing the spring moss over the vacant space around the planters.
