A Smithtown Army Veteran got a new roof over his head yesterday. On Wednesday, Henry Katkin, a U.S. Army veteran, was greeted by a crew of roofers from Marcor Construction Roofing & More. The crew began installation work on a new roof for Katkin’s Ivy Hill Drive home.
Henry Katkin was chosen and approved to receive the new roof through a Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together partnership. Materials and labor were donated in conjunction with the program. The new roof is expected to be completed by March 6th.
Marcor Construction Roofing & More, are a part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project. The program partners Veterans and Military families nationwide with contractors who then deliver and install new roofs at no charge as a gesture of gratitude for their service.
