Head of Hauppauge Industrial Association New Columnist for Smithtown Today
It is with enormous pleasure and the utmost optimism that Smithtown Today welcomes Terri Alessi-Miceli as a new monthly columnist. Alessi-Miceli runs one of the largest and most successful Industrial Parks in the country, yes the country and it’s right here in Smithtown.
But Alessi-Miceli is so much more than the head of the HIA, her credentials are enormously impressive and through her column she’ll inform all our readers about the HIA and how it is not only the financial hub of Smithtown but plays an enormous role in Suffolk and throughout Long Island as well.
Through her column we’ll take a all the things happening at the Park including the new infrastructure changes being made, the new companies coming aboard and all the great things the HIA team is doing. We’ll even get to know some of the team and some of the new businesses!
Alessi-Miceli previously served as Managing Director of Dale Carnegie Training for nearly two decades where she was responsible for the profitability and productivity of the instructional and sales team at this premiere corporate education organization.
In 2006, she was honored with the Harry Chapin Humanitarian award for HIA-LI’s work with Long Island Cares as the second largest contributor to the their annual food drive as well as her personal work with their Dress for Success program, and training women in interviewing and self-confidence. In 2005, she was also honored as one of Long Island Business News’ Top 50 Women Professionals on Long Island. Her community involvement has included a commitment as a religion school teacher and working with the Big Brother/ Big Sister organization.
An honored member of Strathmore’s Who’s Who for 2002-2003, Alessi-Miceli is also a former board member of the Suffolk County Girl Scout Council. She has been featured in publications including Newsday, Networking Magazine, Smithtown News and Long Island Business News and has appeared on News12 and FiOS1.
