Smithtown High School East Advanced Placement Student Artists Chosen to Display Artwork at LIU Post Advanced Visions 13 art exhibit.
Two budding artists at Smithtown High School East have been chosen to feature artwork in the LIU Post Advanced Visions 13 art exhibit. Samantha Cheng and Luke Gelfman are Advanced Placement Art students at Smithtown High School East. The two talented students were selected to showcase their artwork on display during the LIU Post Advanced Visions 13 art exhibit.
During the awards ceremony, on January 18th, Luke Gelfman was granted an honorable mention for his mixed media ink drawing. Members of LIU Post’s art department praised Gelfman’s creation, stating “it’s one of those images that the more you look at it, the more it reveals to you.”
The annual exhibition of student work acknowledges the high-quality, superior work being done by high school students in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate throughout the Long Island. Art teachers may select talented student artwork for submission. Students are then selected by the LIU Post Art Department, from various high schools throughout Suffolk and Nassau Counties.
