Members of Smithtown Fire Department Engine Company 3 served as Color Guard for the New York Rangers game on Sunday, February 14th. The Color Guard were accompanied by FDNY Firefighter Regina Wilson. The mighty warrior has serenaded millions at opening ceremonies for the Mets, Yankees, Rangers, the New Jersey Nets and the WNBA . Firefighter Regina Wilson has also performed for President George W. Bush and Prince Harry of Great Britain.
New York firefighter, Regina Wilson, entered the force in 1999 as the 12th African-American woman to join the FDNY. She is one of the 29 women out of 10,000 firefighters to serve in the FDNY. Wilson was a first responder on scene at the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. She lost seven of her fellow firefighters at Engine 219 in Park Slope, Brooklyn — died that day. Regina Wilson continues to speak on behalf of the brave women who came to the rescue on our nations darkest day.
