The Smithtown Town Council in coalition with Heart and Health Medical will be holding free heart screenings for town employees and their families on March 26th, 2015 at Smithtown Landing Country Club. The annual heart health event is intended to promote wellness, healthy heart awareness as well as to evaluate and educate town employees and their families regarding cardiovascular health. Renowned Cardiologist, Dr. David Kavesteen MD FACC along with staff members from Heart and Health Medical will hold free screenings in the riverview room at Smithtown Landing from 10 am to 2 pm Thursday March 26th, 2015.
Screening will include an EKG, Blood Pressure, Pulmonary Function and Pulse Oxygen tests. Dr. Kavesteen and his Cardiology team will be on hand to discuss any questions, advice and prevention information as part of the initiative. Medical insurance is not required and the event is free for town employee and family members who are 16 years of age and older. The screenings will help to detect high blood pressure, heart rhythm, blood oxygenation and lung function. Dr. Kavesteen and his staff have donated their services and time for this event, free of charge to the community
About Dr. David Kavesteen, M.D. FACC Cardiologist
Dr. Kavesteen believes that prevention is the key to longevity and maintaining a healthy heart and life. His genuine interest in prevention in all facets of medicine has given him a unique perspective in healing and rejuvenation. In recent years, he has combined Eastern medicine with Western medicine. Dr. David Kavesteen received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from SUNY Stony Brook with Magna Cum Laude and distinction in research award. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the prestigious New York University Medical Center. Dr. Kavesteen continued further education by specializing in cardiovascular diseases and nuclear cardiology. He completed his fellowship training at Maimonides Medical Center. He is board certified in internal Medicine, Cardiovascular diseases and nuclear cardiology. He is a diplomat of American college of cardiology and American Board of Internal medicine. He has received numerous awards and he has published many articles in medicine. He is founder of Heart and Health Medical PLLC.
