The team at Smithtown Today is honored to announce a new column brought to you by Smithtown Children’s Foundation, a beautiful organization providing financial and emotional support to local families during times of crisis. The concept behind Smithtown Children’s Foundation is simple; Bring family, friends, neighbors and surrounding businesses together as one to help a Child and his/her family when they need it the most.
The founders Christine Fitzgerald and Kristy Middleton have been outstanding role models with long standing roots within our Community. Since it’s conception, Smithtown Children’s Foundation has teamed up with Schools, Sports Teams, Businesses and Similar Foundations to assure Children suffering from terminal illness, tragic circumstances or families in need of comfort after a child has left this world too soon, have the support of an entire Community to get through the hardships.
Tonight’s 9th Annual Taste of Smithtown, from 6pm-9pm is at Mercedes Benz of Smithtown. Culinary businesses are putting their “best food forward” to raise funds and awareness for Smithtown Children’s Foundation, Smithtown Food Pantry and the Gift of Life.
The event is organized by Senior Resources of Long Island. Hosted by Mercedes Benz of Smithtown.

Smithtown Kickers Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5k
What’s a better way to help out families before the holidays and not feel guilty about carb loading on Thanksgiving than running in the Kickers Turkey Trot 5k?! Registration is only $20 for adults, $10 for kids and the funds go to Angela’s House and the Smithtown Children’s Foundation. The Race begins at 8:30 for Children and 9am for Adults on November 27th. Registration Packets can be picked up between 6:45am and 8:30am
