The Town of Smithtown Senior Citizens Center will host a Senior Living & Health Expo on Wednesday, May 15th from 10 AM – 2 PM. Approximately 43 exhibitors will be on site to feature the many benefits, services, and programs available to Smithtown residents over the age of 60.
“I want to personally thank the Senior Center Director Laura Grief and her amazing team for reviving this wonderful event for us seniors and our families. The range of local organizations who are participating will make for an informative and fun day. I would highly recommend that residents stop by and take advantage of the variety of activities, free services, or take a tour of the center and maybe meet some new friends.” – Supervisor Ed Wehrheim
A variety of senior living and healthcare services at the showcase will include; home repairs and modifications, hearing, diabetes & bone density screenings, cancer prevention and early detection, Veterans services, companion programs, diet & nutrition planning, meal delivery, transportation services, medical alert, and emergency/rapid response systems. A number of presentations will cover topics ranging from identity fraud and scam alerts, to therapy pets, energy affordability, and elder law.
“There are so many extraordinary services available to our senior residents, many of whom are unaware of the resources at their disposal. When I went to Laura Grief with the idea of reviving what used to be an annual event, I was thrilled to learn she was just as eager to do so… Whether you are in need of constituent services, a relaxing massage, or just want some free swag, there is literally something for everyone at the expo.” – Councilwoman Lynne Nowick
This is a free event for Smithtown Residents, ages 60 and older. Proof of residency will be obtained upon entrance. Please feel free to call (631) 360-7616 with any questions or concerns prior to the event.
