Wondering what to do with all that leftover Halloween Candy and emergency toiletries/canned food from a non-eventful Hurricane season? The Long Island Blue Star Moms are hosting a special Boxes of Love fundraiser this Sunday, to fill thousands of care packages for our troops overseas! As Veterans Day approaches, it’s a perfect time to Thank our current military men and women who have volunteered to serve our Country. What better way to say thank you, than sending boxes of love, filled with gratitude and basic essentials?
On Sunday November 15th, 2015 the Long Island Blue Star Moms are hosting a special Boxes of Love event for Senix Creek Inn in Center Moriches. Beginning at 2 PM, members of the community are welcome to bring essentials and non-perishables to go into care packages that will be sent overseas to Our Troops. Stick around and enjoy live music, raffles and plenty of fun all day long.
“It is an honor to be working side by side with the awesome Military Moms, from Long Island Blue Star Moms NY6 on this fundraiser. The outpouring of support for our Troops, for this fundraiser, from the community has been heartwarming. Having my own son currently serving in the U.S. Army, I know how important it is for our Troops to be supported. One common comment from thankful deployed Troops has been…It means so much to know we are not forgotten, and are supported at home” – Joanie Terciak, Chapter President of Long Island Blue Star Moms NY6
