County Executive Bellone to Honor Local Independent Business Women as Part of National Women’s History Month
Smithtown is home to many influential business women. Thanks to our County Executive, Steve Bellone, local Chambers of Commerce will have the opportunity to nominate one female business owner for the County’s “Recognizing Our Independent Business Women” awards. Nominations are being accepted now through March 11th, 2016. Each Chamber of Commerce is asked to chose a businesswoman who has excelled in her career while giving back to the community.
“It is an honor to recognize the triumphs and accomplishments of our local women business owners because they are the ones who help drive our local economies every day… This program honors the women in our region who have not only strived for success, but provided the blueprint and helped forge the paths for other women and aspiring entrepreneurs to follow.” – Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone
The 2016 Recognizing Our Independent Business Women awards program is being held as a portion of Suffolk County’s tribute to National Women’s History Month. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 23 at the Suffolk County Women’s Hall of Fame in the plaza of the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge.
Deadline for Nominations from Chambers of Commerce is Friday, March 11, 2016
