Suffolk County Police arrested a Coram man on Friday, for robbing a Smithtown TD Bank branch, on April 1. Wesley Keene, 36, was arrested by members of the Warrant Enforcement Section and was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree. He was also charged with Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree, for intentionally driving his car into a police vehicle and Reckless Driving during an attempt to evade officers.
Keene allegedly entered the Smithtown TD Bank, dressed in women’s attire and displayed a note stating he had a gun and demanded cash. The teller complied with the robber’s demand and gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash at approximately 4:05 p.m.
Keene was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on April 25th, 2015. The Suffolk County police department reminds the public that all suspects of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
