“We’re working towards convenience. Our plan is to allow residents the ease of access we all expect in this digital age. It is my hope that we will be able to offer additional licenses and permits online in the near future.” – Vincent Puleo, Town Clerk

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets requires that all dogs four months of age or older must be licensed. Licenses can be obtained from the Town Clerk’s Office. In addition to filling out the application, the owner must submit proof of a current rabies vaccination and a certificate or affidavit that the dog has been spayed or neutered, if applicable..

Certified copies of Birth, Death or Marriage Certificates can be ordered online by using VitalChek.com. All other applications for permits, licenses and forms are available for download on the Town of Smithtown website.
