Sparkling New Years Eve Toasts
Pick up a bag of plastic tumbler cups and another bag of plastic champagne flutes from a local party supply store, like Party City. Tumbler cups should cost about $10 for 75-90 of them, while the average Champagne Flute costs a little under $10 for 20 per package. Next, lay some old newspaper on a table and pour a bowl of glitter. Use an adhesive spray, like Krylon All-Purpose Adhesive Spray (cost approximately $10.99 at any hardware store or art supply shop) applying generously to the base of each glass. Gently place the base of the plastic cups in the bowl and sprinkle glitter, with a plastic spoon, along the designated areas. Set the cups upside down on parchment paper to dry. Tip, do this one glass at a time to avoid fast drying and excess glitter from sticking to your guests hands.
New Years Countdown Table Setting
Create the perfect New Years Eve Table setting by printing out letter size clocks. Click Here for beautiful free printables made by a very talented artist and Blogger, The Mermaids Tale who linked free printable via her website. Cut each clock out stick to the center of a plate charger, using double sided scotch tape. Note: If you do not have black, silver or gold table chargers, black foam core board can easily be cut into 13 inch circles. The average 20 X 30 foam board costs a little under $3 at art supply shops or office supply stores like Staples. Next layer a clear plastic plate on top of the clock and charger.
Upcycled Clock Coasters
Take things one step further and make clock coasters or cocktail plates out of old CDs. Print out these free CD size printable clocks by the Mermaids Tale on card stock and cut them out. Next adhere the clocks to old CD’s with adhesive spray. Using a sponge brush, evenly apply waterproof Mod Podge, in glossy finish over the clock and around the edges of each CD to properly seal the clocks. Wipe away any extra Mod Podge and let dry overnight. Tip: Use Mod Podge in a well ventilated area or outdoors so the fumes do not irritate your delicate nose. *Mod Podge is Non-Toxic and safe for Children to work alongside you.
Multi Purpose Napkin Rings
Kick up your table setting by reusing leftover ribbon. Hold together your napkins with gold or silver ribbon. Slide New Year’s Eve noise makers into each napkin and set them on top of each plate. If you are fresh out of ribbon, try using plastic masks at napkin rings or old costume jewelry bracelets. Your guests will applaud your creative accents well into 2016.
New Years Eve Feather-fetti
This next craft is diverse enough to use as both decoration and table place cards. Buy a bag of Feather Quills at a craft shop like Michael’s ($3-$11). Use a brush to apply Mod Podge to each feather. Immediately dip the feather into the bowl of glitter and shake off excess. Another variation is to dip the feathers in gold or silver paint. Use a metallic spray paint to coat each feather. To only dip the feathers, use packing tape to cover the area you wish to leave blank. Allow feathers to dry before attaching them to string as garland or to paper to make place cards.
