Mouthwatering Ice Cream Float Recipes

It’s one hot and humid week in Smithtown. Nothing can cool you down while bringing back nostalgic summer memories quite like an Ice Cream Float. This inexpensive summer treat has become a new trend in place of ice cream stations at kids parties and weekend entertaining. Kick things up a notch at your next party or cool off today with these cleverly delectable Ice Cream Float Recipes.

Cherry Tart Float

Add three or four cherries and a quarter of a lime at the bottom of a 12-16 oz glass. Top with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, a generous splash of maraschino cherry juice and 7-up, sprite or limeade. Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the glass. Garnish with whipped cream… and a cherry on top.

Watermelon Cooler Float

In a blender, combine 5 cups of cut watermelon, a quarter cup of chopped mint leaves and 16 ounces of club soda. Set the blender to pulse mode and pulsate for a minute or just enough for the watermelon to break down. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer  to remove the seeds. Add two scoops of vanilla ice cream to each glass and top with the watermelon mixture. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

Kool Kids Float

Mix a packet of your kids favorite flavor of kool aid with 4 cups of ice and 1 cup of water in a blender. Puree the mixture until you have a smoothie like consistency. Add a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream to the bottom of each glass. Top each glass with the Kool-Aid smoothie. Garnish with whipped cream and a spoon of rainbow sprinkles for a fun float for the kids.

Raspberry Lemonade Float

Add one or two Scoops of vanilla ice cream into a glass. Top with store bought or fresh squeezed Raspberry Lemonade. Gently break apart the ice cream using a long fork. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and slice of lemon or a raspberry.

Disney Dole Whip Hacks:

Puree two 16 oz bags of frozen pineapple chunks in a blender. Add 8 cups of vanilla ice cream, 12 oz of pineapple juice, 2 teaspoons each of lemon juice and lime juice. Blend until completely smooth. Place the mixture into a freezer safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours.  Use an ice cream scooper to spoon out one or two scoops of the pineapple mixture into a glass and top with more pineapple juice.
