Legislator Leslie Kennedy Helps Stroke Awareness and Prevention At the 4th Annual Rock and Roll Car Show
The Summer weather was stunning this past weekend as Legislator Leslie Kennedy (R-Nesconset) enjoyed the outdoor events in her area. On Sunday, Leslie unwound at the beautiful Smithtown Historical Society along with the participants at the 4th Annual Rock and Roll Car Show in Smithtown.
The Car Show was presented by Judy’s Run for Stroke Awareness and Prevention. This group is a non-profit organization that is dedicated in helping to enhance the quality of life for stroke survivors throughout New York State.
The event attracted car enthusiasts from all over Suffolk County; many came to have their classic automobiles judged in hopes of being categorized as Best in Show. The festivities also featured other activities including: a live music concert, a doo wop group performance, food, crafts, vendors, as well as a free blood pressure screening that included information and literature on stroke prevention in adults.
After spending the day appreciating the scenery, Leslie offered her congratulations to Judy’s Run for once again hosting a successful and fun filled event.
“Judy’s Run has done an outstanding job in putting together this special event; all of the hard work they did towards organizing this show truly demonstrations how dedicated they are in their mission to help struggling stroke survivors.”
All of the proceeds that the Judy’s Run group raised through the event will go towards aiding and assisting people who are battling disabilities after having a stroke.
