Legislator Leslie Kennedy (R-Nesconset) had the opportunity to thank two veterans of the US armed forces who are now serving locally in our Volunteer Fire Departments. Edward Springer, who currently serves in the Saint James Fire Department and Thomas Buffa who is now serving in the Smithtown Fire Department, were joined Tuesday with the Suffolk County Legislature in order to honor them for their sacrifice to our country and to their local communities. The Suffolk County Legislature presented these men and other military veterans now serving in fire departments with a pin to honor their service.
“These men show a level of exceptional dedication, first to their country in their military service, and now in their service to their communities” Said Legislator Kennedy. “I want to thank both Thomas Buffa and Edward Springer for their service to this country and thank them now for their work in the Volunteer Fire Department”
