Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a Kings Park motorcyclist this morning.
Kings Park resident, Christopher Colella was driving his Suzuki GSX-R600 early Saturday morning when he was struck by a car making a left turn. At approximately 6:50 AM, Marino Guillen attempted to turn left onto Somers Lane in Commack, when the driver struck and killed the Kings Park Motorcyclist, who was headed southbound on Indian Head Road. Suffolk County Fourth Precinct detectives report that Guillen did not have a license to operate his car, a 1999 Chevrolet Venture.
Christopher Colella, 26, of Kings Park was pronounced dead at scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, Marino Guillen, 57, from Brentwood, was transported to Saint Catherine of Sienna Medical Center in Smithtown for minor injuries. Guillen was charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
