Pet Portraiture – presented by the Smithtown Township Arts Council
Capture the love of your furry best friend with Pet Portraiture, beginning this Friday, January 15th and every friday after through February 12th. Children ages 8-11 will learn to use Acrylic, Soft Pastel And Charcoal to create their very own masterpiece, depicting the family dog, cat, bird… even horses! The art course, held at the Mills Pond House Gallery is taught by Ivy Michelle Berg from 4:30-6:30 PM. The course fee is $125 plus a material fee of $20.

Caleb Smith Nature Preserve Cold Weather Walk on the South Side
This Saturday, January 16th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM enjoy a walk on the preserve’s south side. The cold will invigorate you as you take in the view of Caleb Smith Preserve’s scenic, winter wonderland. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for children over the age of 3. Caleb Smith Nature Preserve Presents Nature Hours for toddlers on Thursdays from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. The “Let’s Discover Nature” Hour is a special time for both parent and child to discover the wonders of their natural world together. Each program’s theme will use nature explorations and hands-on activities as a springboard for learning. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for children over the age of 3. Registration is required
Make a New & Furry Friend
Cozy up with a new friend during these freezing nights of January. Volunteer at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and sign up to foster a truly grateful companion. Orientation for new volunteers is next Saturday, January 23rd from 11-12 at the Animal Shelter. Bring the whole family in to volunteer, walk or play with amazing dogs and cats, while you teach your children the importance of giving back.

In My Life – John Lennon Tribute Performed by Carlo Cantamessa
On Saturday, January 30th, Carlo Cantamessa transcends into the legendary John Lennon, live at the Smithtown Performing Arts Center. Enjoy acoustic adaptations of the music that defined a generation and hear the stories behind the lyrics. Carlo Cantamessa’s portrayal of John Lennon in Beatlemania for 30 years, his unique and intimate knowledge behind the music and legendary man, plus his unique approach to an interactive performance, makes this tribute, closest to the real thing.
