Glamourous Easter Eggs

easter_egg_ideas2Dye each egg in pastel colors like pink, blue and green. Once the eggs are completely dry, brush a thin layer of the edible gold leaf foil glue in the pattern of your choosing and allow to dry until the glue to dry. It will go from milky white to clear and tacky to the touch. Using your fingers or a tweezer, apply pieces of edible gold leaf to dried glue, pressing firmly down. Gently rub to smooth out and remove excess leaf. Once you are satisfied with the amount of glamour, rub each egg gently with a paper towel for a polished look.

Note: We found our edible gold leaf at Walmart for under $8. Most craft shops like Michael’s will also carry edible gold leaf in the baking sections.

Cut out the temporary tattoo of your choice, according to the instructions. Place the tattoo on the egg, where you want it to be. Using a small sponge, apply water to the back of the tattoo, pressing down firmly on all of the edges. Place a paper towel over the egg so the tattoo stays in place. Tip: Add a bit of water if the tattoo is a little difficult to transfer. Hold in place for a minimum of 30 seconds before removing the back of the tattoo transfer.
