Hauppauge F.D. Organize a Sidik Family Gift Card Drive

It’s been one week since the Sidik family lost their home, belongings and two dogs to a fast burning blaze. The Sterling lane fire that left a mother and her two young children hospitalized, devastated the Smithtown community and encouraged strangers to come together to help a family overcome. The humble heroes at the Hauppauge Fire Department have organized a special monetary and gift card drop-off. We spoke with Chief of Department, Robert Wind who provided a detailed list of gift cards, the Sidik family can use to rebuild, reclaim and renew a home they truly deserve.

“We want to give the family the opportunity to pick out their own children’s clothing themselves, purchase household items they losts and the tools to rebuild the home they need.” – Robert Wind, Hauppauge Fire Department Chief of Department

Chief Wind also conveyed his gratitude to the Smithtown fire department for the brave and heroic efforts of the volunteer firefighters who rescued the family of one of their own.

Members of the Community who’d like to contribute are asked to bring Gift Cards to the Hauppauge Fire Department for any of the following stores:

  • Home Depot

  • Loews

  • The children’s place

  • Gap/baby gap

  • Old navy

  • Target

  • Toys r us

  • Babies r us

  • Bed bath and beyond

In addition to gift cards, Monetary donations are also welcome. All Checks should be made out to the Sidik Family.

We are extremely happy to report that Kristen Sidik has been reunited with her two children at Stony Brook hospital, where the family continues to rest and heal. We would like to reiterate our previous request to grant the family the privacy they have asked for, during their time on the mend.

When Kristen Sidik and her children are released from the hospital, they will need to buy clothing, food and basic household items immediately. By donating  personal checks and gift cards, the family can go straight to the store and get what they need while maximizing the impact of help you wish to contribute.
