Four Year Old Boy Drowns during a party in Shirley Saturday Evening.
Devastating tragedy struck during a backyard barbeque in Shirley last night, when a four year old boy was discovered at the bottom of the pool. Justin McConville and his mother were enjoying a backyard party at an Alcolade Drive East home Saturday evening. At approximately 7:11 P.M. the host of the party discovered the boy at the bottom of a 4-foot above ground pool. McConville was immediately pulled out of the water by the host family, whom began CPR immediately, until Emergency Services arrived. Mastic Beach Rescue responders rushed the young boy to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue.
Justin McConville was pronounced dead after arriving at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue. An investigation into the child’s death is currently underway by Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad.
