Fall Front Porch Inspiration

Fall into Autumn by transitioning your porch with just a few subtle touches. All it takes is a little imagination… and a visit to pinterest for creative concepts.  Try rolling your sleeves up this weekend, with the family and design a Fall front porch worthy of a magazine cover, with a little inspiration from the experts.

To start, we gathered galvanized buckets, pallet boards, old lanterns,a ladder and other knickknacks we had around the house and combined it with some plants and pumpkins we picked up from BB & GG Nursery and farm-stand. You’ll be blown away with the beautiful porch concepts we came up with for less than fifty bucks!

All White Fall Front Porch Entrance:

fallporchTo start, we cut out a sign-sized portion from an old pallet board and sanded it gently to give it a rustic look. Then, we used some leftover white paint and stencils to create a welcome sign. Add some corn stalks, we picked from BB & GG Nursery behind the sign for a classy and inviting look. We placed this along one corner of the porch, next to the door.

fallporch2On the opposite side of the door, we placed wooden  farmstand box on its side and stack white gourds and pumpkins inside. On top, we wrapped the bottom of white mums in burlap and added a few small gourds. Finish it off by adding accents like ornamental grasses or a galvanized vase filled with fall foliage.

Fall Porch Planter Entrance

fallporchaRather than leave your emptied out planters in the garage until next spring, put them to Fall use. Stack pumpkins on top of one another or on top of some ornamental cabbage. Get creative by painting your street number on the pumpkins or carving and lighting them. Add dimension by placing a bail of hay or up-cycled boxes behind each planter and add more pumpkins, mums, ornamental cabbages and kales.

Carve, Paint or Glimmer A Fall Walkway

fallporchbCarving a pumpkin doesn’t have to be something only the kids do well. Use cookie cutters to design a jaw dropping pattern that will make every neighbor jealous of your creative skills. Place smaller pumpkins and gourds around each carved pumpkin, adding a few accent LED lights to create the perfect fall walkway. Add to the walkway by painting fun patterns on bigger pumpkins or make your own Monogram with a stencil and some glitter spray paint!

Fall Stairway Entrance

fallporchCLine both ends of each step with fall flowers like montauk daisies, ornamental cabbage or kale and mums. Take things even further by replacing usual planters with seasonal items. Carved out pumpkins will keep the soil moist longer and add to seasonal curb appeal. If carving pumpkins seems like too much work, substitute with galvanized buckets, wooden crates or barrels. Place a little bit of straw under each planter or colorful garland for an extra touch that will tie the whole design together.
