With fun in mind, we went digging through Pinterest for end of Summer party ideas, guaranteed to impress your guests. For more great ideas check out our Summer Entertaining Board on Pinterest.
Buried Treasure
Fill a kiddie pool with sand. Add shells from the beach to the top of the sand. Burry fake jewels and plastic jewelry in the sand. Add baseball trading cards, Chocolate gold coins and other sealed candy. Add a chalkboard sign next to the pool that reads “Dig for Treasure” and watch the kids stay intrigued all night long.
S’mores on a stick
Preheat oven to 375. Cut about 16 marshmallows in half, lengthwise. Lay out graham crackers along a cookie sheet. Center each marshmallow, cut side down, on each piece of graham cracker. Place the cookie sheet in the oven and bake for five minutes or until the marshmallows are puffy and slightly golden. Remove from heat and immediately top each of the s’mores with graham crackers. Insert lollipop sticks or wooden skewers into the soft marshmallows. Allow 10 minutes to cool.
Fill a medium sized saucepan a third of the way with water and set to simmer. Add pieces of milk chocolate or semisweet baking chocolate into thick glass bowl. Set the bowl of chocolate over the saucepan. Stir constantly until the chocolate has melted and is smooth. Remove the chocolate from heat and dip each graham cracker sandwich halfway down into the chocolate or use a spoon to drizzle the chocolate all over the s’mores sandwiches. Let the chocolate cool or keep the s’mores refrigerated until it’s time for the party.
Squirt Station
Set up a small table with water guns, water bomb balls, sponge balls and goggles. Fill a blow up kiddie pool with water balloons, next to the table. Designate an area of yard for the water war games by spraying temporary chalk spray paint along the grassy battlefield or use pool noodles to line the area.
Wheelbarrow Cantina
Upcycle the wheelbarrow in the garage by turning it into a beer and soda station. Simply clean the inside of the wheelbarrow, fill a few bags of ice and add your favorite beverages. Hang up a sign that reads Cantina and wheel it out to your guests. The unique use will not only be a talking point for guests, it will add to the party decor!
Sand bucket Snacks
Fill plastic sand buckets up with chips, tortilla’s and pretzels and place them on tables around the backyard. Add a sand scooper in the center on each bucket so guests can dish out their desired amount.
