OPERATION JAKE – CYCLE FOR SOLUTIONS: a 2,000 mile bike ride to help Homeless Veterans and Raise PTSD Awareness.
BeesWELL founders, Shannon Burbage and Ronald Perrone have joined forces with The Rotary Club of the Ronkonkomas to host a special fundraiser for a truly noble mission. Operation Jake, named in memory of friend and 173 Airborne Brigade Veteran, Jacob S. Thomas is a bicycle tour down the east coast, from New York to Key West, to seek out veterans to speak with, listen to, and document their stories. Ron and Shannon intend to give out their BeesWELL Personal Stove and Survival Kit to homeless Veterans along the 2,000 mile bike ride, as a method of opening a dialogue and developing trust with all who they meet along the way. The philanthropists hope to raise awareness about PTSD within our community by documenting each story while giving every Hero they meet a helping hand.
“We aim to bring some valuable, comprehensive information back home, so that when our vets come home we can give them the same protection and service that they have given our country.” – BeesWELL Founders Shannon Burbage and Ronald Perrone

What’s a BeesWELL Kit?
This personal stove and survival kit is a multipurpose emergency go-bag, designed so that every component serves a purpose. The bags can hold food or other valuables to keep dry. The large can be used for cooking, drinking, or washing. The BeesWELL heat source is 100% beeswax which is safe to burn, cleans the air and has medicinal properties. The tin foil can be used to cook on and shield the flame from the weather. The mesh wire provided makes a great platform for cooking on. The Mylar blanket is a lifesaving tool for body heat retention. The natural fiber twine can be used to create a shelter by draping the Mylar blanket over, or to simply hang some clothes to dry.
