Meet the Future Class of 2023 Smithtown
Three Middle Schools in Smithtown Central School District welcomed the incoming sixth graders at a special orientation this week. On Monday, August 29th, each new middle schooler at Accompsett, Great Hollow and Nesaquake got a tour at each of their respective schools during the summer orientation program.
The future class of 2023 were greeted by administrators, faculty and even the Smithown Bull, as a means to help ease the transition from elementary school. The sixth-graders in each school got the chance to meet their classmates, new teachers and administrative staff.
The orientation began with a brief meeting on school policy and procedures. Each student was given their respective schedules, locker combinations and received Student agendas, donated by the PTA. The agendas are meant to serve as a tool to help stay organized and manage their time. Afterwards, the new sixth-graders got the chance to tour the building, practice opening lockers and discover routes to each class.
