From Boy to Eagle

Suffolk Legislator Robert Trotta Commends Peter C. Tiranno of Boy Scout Troop 565 for Earning the Rank of Eagle Scout

Suffolk County Legislator Robert Trotta congratulated Peter C. Tiranno of Smithtown for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout at his recent Court of Honor. Peter has been involved with scouting since first grade. His Eagle Scout Project was inspired by his love for baseball and his community, particularly the Smithtown Historical Society. The Society sponsors the Brooklyn Atlantics, a vintage baseball team, who play on the grounds of the Society and who were in need of a new grandstand. Peter and his fellow scouts designed and built a wooden grandstand for the fans to sit on comfortably and enjoy the baseball games.

Peter attends SUNY at Geneseo where he is majoring in accounting. “Your passion and dedication to the community and the public have helped you reach the honorable rank of Eagle Scout and your community project is a textbook example of what it takes to be a leader. The efforts you have put forth are an inspiration to us all and I hope you will continue to stay involved with your great hometown of Smithtown,” said Suffolk County Legislator Robert Trotta.
