Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred yesterday, April 1st, 205 at a bank in Smithtown.
A man, dressed in women’s attire entered the TD Bank located at 714 Nesconset Highway and displayed a note stating he had a gun and demanding cash. The teller complied with the robber’s demand and gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash at approximately 4:05 p.m.
The suspect fled the bank in a westerly direction possibly in a light-colored vehicle.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
