AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS OF POST 1244 TURKEY RIDE 2019

On Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 The American Legion Riders Post 1244 delivered 20 Thanksgiving Dinners to US Veterans (or their spouses) in the Huntington and Smithtown Townships.

Every year the American Legion riders identify local Vets who can use a memorable surprise in time for Family to gather and be thankful.

The American Legion Riders are a diverse group of motorcycle enthusiasts who are members of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion. The Riders participate in a number of fundraisers, events and awareness initiatives that support America’s military, veterans, and for the children and youth of our country. Outreach programs include the Missing In America Project, giving US Veterans with no surviving family proper Military burials. The Riders also fundraise for annual scholarships, teach Flag respect and education to local youth and participate in street renaming ceremonies for US Military Veterans and Service Members.
