The Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pets of the Week are a few of our black cats in honor of Halloween. Meet Artemis, Bubble Wrap, and Stamp. Artemis is a five year old female Domestic Shorthair who has been in the shelter since she was three months old. Bubble Wrap and Stamp are a pair of four month old female kittens who were found at the post office.
Artemis first came to the shelter as a very shy kitten, but love and patience has made her less shy and more of a sweet and friendly cat. Volunteers refer to her as “Baby Squeaks” because of her cute little voice. Sometimes she can chat up a storm!
Bubble Wrap and Stamp were brought to the shelter as newborns in need of urgent medical care. Against all odds they survived, and now they are trying their luck to find excellent homes. These kittens know that humans helped them to grow strong when they were babies. Because of this bond, they are extremely social and affectionate.
Currently, there are a variety of male and female cats & kittens available to adopt or foster. If you are looking for a fun loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two!
All of the felines at the Shelter are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam etc.) by a board certified Veterinarian.
Thinking About Adoption:
The Smithtown Animal Shelter’s primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to us. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter, or we can set up an at home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets, or the household itself.
