The Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pets of the Week are Lily and Milo, two Domestic Short Hair felines who have lived together for six years. These poor babies were recently surrendered to the Animal Shelter when their owner fell on hard times. They have been well loved and cared for, which is easy to see, given their affectionate nature.
Beautiful Lily is 12 years old and FIV positive. Handsome Milo is 6, and both of these friendly cats need a forever home. Both Lily and Milo are still waiting to come out of their shells, but they have shown they can be very loving to those who spend time with them. They love lounging around and being lazy, and will never say no to being petted!
Given Lily’s senior status, the best home for this pair is a home who adopts Milo and Lily together. They’ve been together for so long that they deserve to have more good times together in a new home where they can relax and not have a care in the world.
Currently, there are a variety of male and female cats & kittens available to adopt or foster. If you are looking for a fun loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two!
All of the felines at the Shelter are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam etc.) by a board certified Veterinarian.
Thinking About Adoption:
The Smithtown Animal Shelter’s primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to them. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter, or can set up an at home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets, or the household itself.
Walk-In Hours at Smithtown Animal Shelter are currently Monday – Friday 8AM – 4:30 PM and Saturday 8AM – 3:30PM. (Sunday’s: by appointment only). To inquire about the Pet of the Week or to meet your potential soulmate, please call the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center at 631-360-7575.
