Adopt Maple: Sweet as Can Be

The Smithtown Animal and Adoption Center is proud to introduce this week’s Pet of the Week, Maple, a 1 year old spayed pocket pit. She’s as sweet as her name, very well mannered, and impossible to resist. Maple has the most gorgeous eyes and big giant ears that stand straight up. She is a unique character in a class all of her own!

Maple is healthy, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Maple or any of the wonderful rescue dogs at the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center, please call ahead to book an hour to properly interact with her in a domestic setting, which includes the Meet and Greet Room, dog runs, and the Dog Walk trail.

The shelter currently has a whole litter of Polydactyl (aka Hemingway) kittens currently up for adoption! Many are named after ball players because of their mitts. Meet Duke, Earl, and Dutchess!

All kittens (and cats) are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam etc.) by a board certified Veterinarian. The Smithtown Animal Shelter has a variety of kittens available for adoption or foster in addition to older, wiser, and loving cats.

Currently, there are a variety of male and female kittens available to adopt or foster, from redheads to cobalt blue, calico and tortoiseshell, domestic short-hair and long… If you are looking for a fun loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop in at the Smithtown Animal Shelter today and find your PURR-fect soulmate or two!

Thinking About Adoption:
The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center’s primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to us. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or set up an at home meet & greet to see how your prospective family member does with other family members, pets, or the household itself.

Summer hours at Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center are currently Monday – Friday 8AM – 4:30PM and Saturday 8AM – 4:00PM. (Sunday’s: by appointment only). To Inquire about the Pet of the Week or to meet your potential soulmate, please call the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center at 631-360-7575.
